This is Ms. Quintero's sixth year at Carson High School where she teaches Freshman Honors, Freshman, and Honors Strategies. She is a graduate of Carson High School (class of 1980), Western Nevada Community College, and the University of Nevada Reno where she received her Bachelor's degree in journalism. After college, she went to work for the Nevada Appeal and then the Reno Gazette-Journal as a reporter, copy editor, page designer, and eventually, a section editor. In 1999, Ms. Quintero left the Gazette and entered Sierra Nevada College at Incline Village where she earned her teaching credentials. She is currently working on her masters degree in teaching. Ms. Quintero believes her background in writing and editing is helpful to students who struggle with writing. She is available after school ever day until 4:00 P.M. for tutoring. She even tutors high school graduates attending WNCC and UNR.
Outside of school, Ms. Quintero spends time with her husband, two daughters, volunteers for Special Olympics, and occasionally writes articles for the Reno Gazette-Journal.
