Mr. Henry was born in Pasadena, California. He grew up in Northern Nevada, graduating from Sparks High School. A baseball scholarship allowed him to attend college at the University of Nevada, Reno, where he attained a Bachelor of Science degree in education. He later earned a Masters of Arts for the Teaching of English (M.A.T.E.) and his administrative credential. After spending sixteen years teaching primarily English in the Carson City School District, he moved into the Dean's office at Carson High School in 1996. He was hired as an assistant principal in 2004. Mr. Henry has been married to his wife Leonora for twenty-three years. They have two sons, Ryan and Aaron, Ryan is a senior communications major and plays baseball at Oregon Tech. Aaron is in his junior year at University of Nevada, Reno, and plays on their baseball team while majoring in business.
Mr. Henry stated, "We work in a tremendous district with great students. I think our advantages and situation are sometimes taken for granted."
Mr. Henry's favorite quote is, "Statistically, the probability of any of us being here is so small that you'd think the mere fact of existing would keep us all in a contented dazzlement of surprise." Lewis Thomas.
