Science Olympiad
The Science Olympiad Team began in October, 2001. Its purpose is to compete in the Statewide Science Olympiad at the University of Nevada Reno. This competition pits the best students from around the state competing for Olympic-style medals in 23 different Science and/or Engineering events. Events range from Astronomy to Zoology and include just about everything in between. Teams winning the State competitions earn the right to compete on the National level.

Results: The Nevada State Science Olympiad held February 23, 2002:

With 5 team-members and only being able to compete in 10 events, Carson High School managed to take home the Bronze Medal, placing third in state. All members of the team earned gold in at least one of their events. If you are interested in competing next year, please contact Mr. Kortemeier, or Mr. Mitchel. You must be prepared to be self-motivated and you must commit 4 hours per week towards your event or events.
