Mrs. Province, a native Nevadan, came to Carson High School in August of 2003.
She did her undergraduate work at the University of Oregon, Eugene and earned a
degree in Secondary Mathematics. She received her Master's in Computers
Education with an emphasis in Mathematics from Lesley College in Cambridge,
Massachusetts. Before she came to Carson High School, she was at Eagle Valley
Middle School for 11 years, Vo Tech High School in Las Vegas for 1 year and
Indian Springs High School also in Las Vegas for 5 years. In addition to her
regular teaching career, Mrs. Province has taught 4th grade summer school,
middle school summer school, high school proficiency summer school and college
level classes at Cheyenne Campus in Las Vegas, WNCC in Carson City, and the
three prison facilities in Carson City.
Mrs. Province loves working with the students, helping them to succeed in school
and making choices for the future. She encourages students to work hard and set
their sights high. Her greatest strength is her love for mathematics and the
doors it can open for those who study it sincerely.
Mrs. Province is happily married and has two beautiful daughters. Both are graduates from Carson High. Besides mathematics and her family, Mrs. Province loves her golden retriever, Cynthia, and spending time with her mother. Her favorite pass time (when not being a math geek) is reading a good novel or spending time with her family anywhere.
