Melanie Reeder (134)

Melanie Reeder is a special education teacher and has been at Carson High School for 10 years. She graduated from the University of Nevada Reno with a B.S. in Elementary Education (K-8) as well as Special education (K-12). She is highly-qualified in the areas of special education and English. She also has a master's degree in Education/Administration. Her next educational endeavor involves literacy classes at UNR to become a certified "Reading Specialist".

This year (2007-2008), Mrs. Reeder is teaching READ 180 yr. 2, an intensive reading intervention program aimed at struggling readers. She is also co-teachingwith Cheryl Macy in English IV. In her free time she likes to spend time with her family. Her oldest daughter Megan is a Special Education teacher in Dayton. Her daughter Michelle is married and studying education. The youngest, Kevin, is at UNR studying science/medicine.

Mrs. Reeder is the proud grandmother of a 3 year old grandson Jake and a 8 month old grandson, Eli.
