Mrs. Yao recieved her BA at Central College, Pella, Iowa, and her MA at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her hobbies include, skiing (downhill or cross country), traveling overseas, reading books in English, French, or Spanish, and teaching ESL. Mrs.Yao previously taught French and Spanish at CHS in the 80's, then went to West Africa and lived in Ivory Coast for 8 years. She got married there and came back to the USA in October 2000. Mrs.Yao has lived in Mexico, France, Japan, and the Ivory Coast for a total of 12 1/2 years. She advises everyone to travel as much as possible, especially when in high school and college.
