Mr. Beck grew up in southern Idaho and graduated from Boise State University with a degree in education for Social Studies, Health and PE. He taught for seven years in a small school in Idaho and coached three sports. He graduated with a Masters degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1985 in Educational Administration. Mr. Beck moved to Nevada in 1985 and taught for two years in Dayton, Nevada. He then moved to Lovelock, Nevada where he was the principal of the high school for ten years. He followed that with a three year stint at the Nevada Department of Education, three years at Washoe Country School District in Reno and 4 1/2 years at the District Office in the Carson City School District.
