Mrs. Hixenbaugh teaches Biology at Carson High School. She has taught at Carson High School for 14 years, and at Eagle Valley Middle School for 11 years. Her majors are in General Science and Environmental Science. When she was going to college she initially wanted to be a nurse, but instead became a Science instructor. She also graduated Valedictorian of the Science department. She also was a member of Lake Tahoe Community College Alpha Gamma Sigma Honor Society. She has a MA in education and a MA in Administration and Supervision.
