At
Carson High School,
I teach world history/geography to sophomores and U.S. Government to seniors. My
classroom style encourages thoughtful and respectful discussions.
I will consistently ask students to think critically about the subject
and then I will challenge their opinions, hoping to get them to think of that
topic from another perspective. My goal is to teach tolerance of all opinions. I
also spend a significant amount of time covering current events and tying them
to the Carson City School District (CCSD) curriculum and Nevada State Standards.
Being informed of world events makes one a better citizen.
Class discussions, lectures, projects and daily assignments will monopolize our
time.
On a personal
level, I have been married for 14 years to my husband Ralph.
We have two beautiful daughters who attend school in the CCSD. I received my
bachelors degree in Political Science from Carroll College in Helena, MT and my
Masters degree in Secondary Education from Montana State University - Billings
in Billings, MT.
I teach at the
best high school in the State of Nevada
and am proud to be a Carson Senator! I also work with an amazing group of
individuals in the Social Studies Department and am constantly reminded of their
intellectual prowess and love of teaching. I am humbled to
work beside them each day!
