Welcome!

FBLA is a wonderful opportunity for young adults to learn more about a business oriented world, connect with like-minded students, and to give back to the community. The idea of FBLA was first proposed in 1937 by Hamden L. Forkner and it has been a growing organization since then.

FBLA’s mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs.

Future- today’s students are future CEO’s, politicians, doctors, teachers and consumers. FBLA strives to prepare students for the future by holding competitive events (http://www.nevadafbla.org/resources_ce.php ) at a state-wide and national level in various business and career-readiness fields. Carson sent 5 students to the national competition last summer; next year it could be you!

Business- Carson FBLA also partners with local businesses. In the past we’ve worked with Nevada Chamber of Commerce, City Brew, and Graphics Factory. Also FBLA awards for competitions can be used on resumes when applying for a job or college.

Leaders- Carson FBLA encourages leadership in its members. We have many officer positions within our club, and we encourage members to run to higher offices. From our club, Rebecca Matley became the Nevada State Vice President of Public Relations. She is an inspiration to our members, and we hope more members will run for positions next year!

America- FBLA is a national organization with national recognition and benefits. FBLA members can receive scholarships Here Members of Carson FBLA also have the opportunity to work with other national organizations like the IRS. Every year members (over 16) can get trained by the IRS to help people in the community file their taxes. Attending state and nationals competition also allows students to network and make friends from any part of the state or country!

We sincerely hope you consider joining FBLA!
