IT Essentials I | ||||
Prerequisite: None This course covers the fundamentals of computer hardware and software, as well as topics in design, maintenance, and repair. Students who complete this course will be able to describe the internal components of a computer, assemble a computer system, install an operating system, and troubleshoot using system tools and diagnostic software. This course will fulfill the Career and Technical Education graduation requirement. This course is based on or meets the Nevada State IT Essentials Skills Standards. Juniors and Seniors can earn three college credits through WNC (Tech Prep Credit) with a grade of B or higher. Lab Fee: $20. |

IT Essentials II | ||||
Prerequisite: IT Essentials I This course covers the fundamentals of computer hardware and software, as well as topics in design, maintenance, and repair. Students who complete this course will be able to describe the internal components of a computer, assemble a computer system, install an operating system, and troubleshoot using system tools and diagnostic software. The appropriate use of technology and industry-standard equipment is an integral part of this course. Upon completion of this sequence of courses, students will qualify to sit for A+ Certification, a national industry-standard certification exam. This course will fulfill the Career and Technical Education graduation requirement. This course is based on or meets the Nevada State IT Essentials Skills Standards. |
